Migratory Waterfowl Duck Stamp and Print Program.
A dedicated conservationist as well as an avid sportsman, Killen brings his experience and commitment to wildlife and conservations organizations with his remarkable gift of painting. His art is in great demand and will endure as long as people treasure their dogs, gamebirds and waterfowl and the unspoiled places that bring them all together. He spends hours with his camera recording the beauty and serenity of the great outdoors. Jim feels there is something very special about the sporting dog breeds…their energy, spirit and unwavering loyalty. He hopes his paintings will bring back memories of those great days with your dog and the unforgettable look of pride when their job is well done!
A career spanning over forty years has brought numerous awards and honors including being named Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year three times and over twenty state conservation stamp awards. His art has generated millions of dollars for numerous conservation and state organizations.
Born and raised in Minnesota, the pheasant fields and prairie potholes inspired him to strive to preserve these gifts of nature for future generations. One of his favorite projects as a land steward has been perpetuating the forest and managing his conservation properties. His studio overlooks the 160 acres he developed into a wildlife management area focusing on waterfowl, pheasant, wild turkey and deer.
